Located at Southern Gate, just a five minute walk from Chichester Train Station, we’re happy to welcome patients for treatment on the NHS or private. Our practice was purpose built, purely for specialist orthodontics and is equipped with the latest orthodontic technology.
Our specialists are dentists who have undertaken a minimum of an additional three years of postgraduate orthodontic education and training in hospitals to become experts in the field of teeth straightening.
Teeth straightening works by using either braces or aligners to carefully and gradually move your teeth into a new, straighter position. This offers numerous benefits, both functional and aesthetic, including:
Traditional braces have metal brackets that are attached to the front of your teeth and connected by metal wire. It’s the most common treatment – and a popular one too.
These braces use tooth-coloured or clear ceramic brackets, so they’re less visible and more aesthetically pleasing. They work like metal braces and are suitable for most cases.
The latest in clear aligner technology, Invisalign® is virtually invisible. They can be removed to eat, drink and brush your teeth too.
If you're are under 18 and meet certain criteria, you will be able access treatment on the NHS. If you’d prefer a less noticeable option, please speak to an orthodontist who can advise you on private options.

Barry graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2007, attained his dental degree from the University of Glasgow University in 2005 and degree in Microbiology in 2000 from the University of Cork.
Barry has a real passion for orthodontics and as part of his specialist orthodontic training, he gained a Master’s degree from the University of Bristol. This was the followed by a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2011, allowing him to register as an Orthodontic Specialist.
Your orthodontist will start with an initial consultation – x-rays, photos and impressions or scans of your teeth will be taken (at your consultation or another visit). You’ll then receive a tailored treatment plan explaining your options and costs.
You'll usually need to visit your dentist approximately every six to eight weeks for adjustments to be made. The duration of treatment depends on the complexity of the case and type of treatment you choose to straighten your teeth.
Your orthodontist will explain thoroughly how best to care for your aligners or braces. This includes how to maintain good dental health by regularly brushing your teeth (and appliances if you have braces) and avoiding certain food and drinks.
