Types of dental implants we offer in Devizes

Single dental implant

A single dental implant is a great option if you only need one tooth replacing. It won’t affect your neighbouring teeth: allowing you to eat, smile and laugh with confidence.

Multiple dental implants

If you have more than 1 missing tooth, you don’t necessarily need implants to replace them all. An implant can be placed either side of the gap, and a bridge fitted to fill the space.

Implant secured dentures

Implant secured dentures or ‘clip in’ dentures are an effective solution if you don’t have many natural teeth left, but you do have enough jaw bone to support implants.

Top questions commonly asked about implant treatment

Why might I need an implant?

An implant is made up of an artificial titanium root that is fixed to the jawbone, with a crown or bridge fitted on top. They can be made to look and feel just like natural teeth. If you are concerned about your replacement teeth looking realistic or coming loose, implants are an ideal option.

Implants also safeguard your overall dental health. Replacing missing teeth is extremely important, as missing teeth cause bone loss which can age your face, and could potentially cause adjacent teeth to become loose too.

How do dental implants work?

Dental implants are made of titanium and are placed directly into your jawbone – replacing your missing tooth root. After has been placed the bone surrounding the implant will gradually integrate with it, holding the implant firmly in place. A crown or bridge (false teeth) that match the colour and shape of your existing teeth is then fitted to the top of the dental implant(s).

Does treatment hurt?

No. We always give excellent local anaesthetic first, so that the actual implant placement or bone graft is comfortable.

How long will treatment take?

This depends on each case. We normally allow 3 months healing time in the lower jaw, and 4-6 months healing time in the upper jaw. Bone grafts normally take 6-9 months to heal.

How can I make the treatment affordable?

We offer bespoke 0% interest financing options to make the treatment affordable.

How do I look after my implant?

As with natural teeth, good oral hygiene is important for preventing gum disease and prolonging the life of your implants. You do not need to remove the teeth fitted to your implants, but clean them as you would your natural teeth. A high standard of daily care, along with regular check-ups with your local Devizes dentist and hygienist, will help to ensure your mouth stays healthy and your implants last as long as possible.
