Benefits of dental implants

Implants blend seamlessly with your existing teeth, giving you the freedom to smile, laugh, and eat without hesitation.

Implants provide long-term fixed solutions for replacing teeth to give a natural-looking smile.

Unlike dentures that can slip or bridges that rely on adjacent teeth for support, dental implants provide a stable, long-lasting solution with proper care.

What types of dental implants do we offer?

Single dental implants

Single dental implants are a great option if you only need one tooth replacing. It won’t affect your neighbouring teeth: allowing you to eat, smile, and laugh with confidence.

Implant supported bridge

If you have more than one missing tooth, you don’t necessarily need implants to replace them all. An implant can be placed either side of the gap, and a bridge fitted to fill the space.

Implant secured dentures

Implant secured dentures or ‘clip in’ dentures are an effective solution if you don’t have many natural teeth left, but you do have enough jaw bone to support implants.

All-on-4®

If all your teeth are missing or failing, our implant dentists can use All-on-4®  to replace an entire arch on just four, strategically placed dental implants.

Frequently asked questions:

How much are dental implants?

The cost of dental implants at Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry will vary depending on your dental needs. We offer affordable payment plans with 0% finance* (subject to credit checks) to help you spread the cost of your new smile.

How long do dental implants take?

The process of having dental implants usually takes between three to nine months but this can vary depending on your individual needs and treatment plan.

How long do dental implants last?

Just like natural teeth, dental implants can be damaged by trauma and affected by gum disease and poor dental health. However, if you look after them, they can last for many years.

Does dental implant treatment hurt?

You’ll usually be given a local anaesthetic (and a sedative, if suitable for you) so you feel more comfortable during your treatment. Most of our patients recover quickly, but you might experience some discomfort and swelling for several days. But don’t worry, we will provide you with aftercare and if you’re worried about anything you can contact us for reassurance and advice.

Should I have dental implants abroad?

We don’t recommend having dental implants in other countries. If you have any problems later on, resolving them could be more difficult as you would need to return to your original treatment location (often requiring multiple visits). Also, as there are different implant systems, some may not be compatible with the availability of implant components in other countries.

How do I know if implants are right for me?

This is what we’ll discuss in the free consultation. Our experienced team will evaluate your smile and discuss how and if implants can benefit you – no pressure, just answers.
